Jan. 29th, 2012 04:43 pmHave been to Summerhill Farm Shop and cashed in a voucher I got at Christmas: now have Vast Slabs Of Meat in the fridge.
Incidentally it took me 17 minutes to do 6 km out on the bike (a little less than 3 minutes / km, a little faster than 20 km/hour) and 19 minutes to do 4 km back (I decided a loop route was the more interesting option). This seems a fair measure of the difference between me with empty panniers and anxious to buy Vast Slabs Of Meat before the shop closes, and me feeling smugly complete, in no particular hurry, and with a half-full pannier. It might also have to do with the amount of stopping and starting on the two routes, which are all shared with cars or pedestrians or both, but that's crazy talk.
