What I have been doing this week.

In addition, met B. at Spitalfields and went to Montezuma and then had a pub lunch (by which I mean pie). Went for a walk from Spitalfields to Mile End, then back north and west along Regent's Canal to Angel. Victoria Park and Mile End Park were both looking attractive - it was a dry cold afternoon, with ice on the ponds and everything outlined in cool blue and gray tones.

A few yards from the cut that runs east to the Lee Valley rivers, a heron flew slowly down the centre of the canal, 5 meters away and level with my head. There were plenty of coots and a few moorhens and the inevitable canada geese. I'm about 50% sure Cory Doctorow passed me on a bicycle, but I don't think he counts as urban wildlife. It was a beautiful way to pass the afternoon. About 7.5 k in about an hour, it was too cold to walk slower!

Then bought myself two woks in Chinatown (this is A Plan: I am going to start doing more stirfry, and do veg or noodles in one wok, plus a meat or tofu or heavy-on-the-umami dish in the other. With the big wok it's harder to do two complementary things for one meal, and I also end up with vast amounts of leftovers, which I don't always want. And these two 10" woks will stack inside the 15" wok to take up no more room than before) and met [livejournal.com profile] shark_hat and A.
