...okay, I'm reading about dead people, as you do, and this particular dead person is Martin Kruskal. The obit is in the LA Times. And there is a response from a mathematician from Heriot-Watt.

I mean, what? How does a LA Times journalist come to decide "sod Berkeley and UCLA and USC and Leland Stanford Jr. University [1], I'm getting on the phone to Heriot-Watt right now"?
